After nearly a decade at one company, I decided it was time to build something for myself—a corner of the internet where I can share what I’ve learned and connect with others in the industry.

Why Now?

There’s something about approaching the 10-year mark at a single company that makes you reflective. I’ve grown from a product support specialist answering customer calls to a senior software engineer architecting cloud solutions. That’s a lot of learning, a lot of mistakes, and a lot of lessons worth sharing.

What You’ll Find Here

I plan to write about:

  • Cloud architecture decisions—the tradeoffs, the wins, and the things I’d do differently
  • System modernization—practical lessons from migrating legacy systems
  • Career growth—what it looks like to grow within one organization
  • Technical deep dives—on topics like infrastructure as code, containerization, and authentication patterns

The Stack

This site is built with Astro, a modern static site generator that’s perfect for content-focused sites. It’s fast, simple, and lets me write posts in Markdown—no CMS required.

The design is intentionally minimal: dark mode, good typography, and enough personality to not feel like a template.

Let’s Connect

If any of this resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you. You can find me on LinkedIn or drop me an email at olesoncs@gmail.com.
